The Cherry County Planning Commission is entering what could be the final stages of developing a new comprehensive plan for Cherry County. This has been about 5 years in development working the past three years with consultant Keith Marvin. The current comprehensive plan was adopted about 20 years ago and zoning regulations were updated in 2008.
The current draft includes 13 chapters and contains just over 100 pages.
Commission members Sherri Bacon and Marla Shelbourn appeared on the KVSH Comment program to encourage county residents to review the plan and prepare comments to the nine member planning commission.
The draft of the plan is available by going to the Cherry County web site and looking under Planning and Zoning. There will be hard copies available, within a couple weeks, to review on site at the Zoning Office and the Valentine Public Library.
Stay tuned to KVSH radio for the public hearing date and location.
