Entries are open through July 6th for the Cherry County Rodeo Royalty program contestants. Director Brittany Starrit (Stair-it)told KVSH news that there will be a Queen selected from the 16 to 21 year old contestants, a Princess from the 12 to 15 year old’s and a Sweetheart from the 7 to 11 age group. Judging and crowning will be conducted on July 13th , based on horsemanship, speeches, an interview, written test, modeling and over all appearance. The Queen and Princess will both receive a trophy saddle as part of the prize package. The public is welcome to watch the proceedings at the Cherry County Fairgrounds. Brittany stated that the best time to come and watch would be about 9:30 or 10 o’clock on the 13th. Contestants must reside in Nebraska or a bordering state.
