Valentine’s Heart of Christmas Celebration:
Saturday, November 25th is Shop Small Town Saturday and Valentine’s 3rd Annual Heart of Christmas Celebration. A variety of events are scheduled for the day.
Viaero will host the Sandpainters’ Art Show from 10am-3pm with a drawing for several art pieces to be held at 3pm. The Berean Church will be serving hot dogs and popcorn up and down Main Street before the parade. Nails by Becky will have chili out in front of the store. State Farm Insurance will be taking donations for the community food pantry and serving hot cider next to Country Pride Coop. Janine’s Flower Exchange will have many specials throughout the day and CJ Leonard will be back with her ever popular S’mores Bar in front of Janine’s following the parade.
The Parade of Lights will be at 6:00 pm on Main Steet. Following the parade be sure to visit with Santa Claus at Country Pride Coop and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies provided by the 4-H Council and the area 4-H Clubs. Remember the People’s Choice Christmas Tree Contest will be taking place from November 19th through December 4th.
The People’s Choice Christmas Tree Contest judging cards are available at these participating businesses: Flowerland, Nails by Becky, Valentine Public Library, Janine’s Flower Exchange, Country Pride Coop, Nelsen Furniture, Viaero, and Plains Trading. Be sure to pick up a judging card and visit the participating businesses to judge the trees and have a chance to win up to $75 in Chamber Bucks. Completed judging cards can be dropped off at Country Pride Coop at 272 N. Main St. by 5:00 pm Monday December 4th.
The Parade of Lights will be at 6:00 pm on Main Street. The deadline for parade entries is 12:00 pm on Friday, November 24th. Entry forms can be picked up at KVSH. Show your Holiday Spirit and enter a float in the parade. Parade line-up will be at 5:30pm at Valentine Livestock Auction.
