The beginning of summer. For some, it’s the last day of school. For others, the summer solstice on June 21st marks the first official day of summer. But for many, the Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the summer season. According to Valentine City Manager Shane Seiwart, the city’s park facilities are all open for the summer, and the Valentine Family Aquatic Center will be opening for the season on Memorial Day. The weather may be a factor in this plan, however, as the pool will only be open to swimmers when the official temperature is at or above 70*.
Pool hours will be 1 to 6 daily with the exception of Wednesdays when the pool will remain open until 9. Family passes this year are $150, daily passes are $4.
Seiwart also stated that the pool will be fully staffed this year, hiring 14 lifeguards for the summer.
