The Blue Hill Bobcats continues its playoff march after a successful outing, after grinding out a victory over Mullen, winning 42 – 30.
The Mullen offense had a slow start and went into the break having scored zero points, putting the Broncos down 21 – 0. Mullen fought to rally back, but even after 30 points in the second half, the team couldn’t make up the lost ground.
Even though Mullen lost, junior Lane Edis provided the team with a solid game as he earned two touchdowns and 186 yards rushing the ball. This marked the 4th consecutive game in which Edis had 100+ rushing yards. Additional support came from senior Tell Spies, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 14 tackles.
Mullen remains undefeated at home and rose to 11-1. Blue Hill remains undefeated at 12-0.
The season is close to the end, but Blue Hill will look to squeeze in a victory in its upcoming game. Blue Hill will challenge Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Monday as it continues its playoff run. Bruning-Davenport/Shickley defeated Falls City Sacred Heart yesterday 50-16, so the D2 Championship game in Lincoln will feature two teams who haven’t lost a game all season.
Great job to the Mullen Broncos, and a big thank you to all of the sponsors!
