The Cherry County GOP held a candidates forum Friday evening at Mid Plains Community College. All three candidates for Cherry County Commissioner participated. Greg Hobbs, Shane Daniels and Martin DeNaeyer. Trent Loos moderated the forum and KVSH broadcast the event live. Daniels, Hobbs and DeNaeyer answered questions from the audience about hog farms, wind and solar energy, property rights, roads and budget. Six candidates for Valentine Community Schools Board of Education participated in that forum. Jo Hand, Lyndee Elliott, James Ward, Shane Kime, Byron Burdick and Tyler Eggert. They faced audience questions including transgender bathrooms, budgets, explicit books, does the school need a new gym, and even tackled school lunches. The event last about 2 and a half hours with refreshments provided by the
