Three members of the local Sparks Nebraska Spurs fast draw club did well at the Hyannis Nebraska windmill jackpot shoot over the weekend. Nancy Storms took first place on Saturday and second place on Sunday in the women’s competition. Dean Storms took first place on Sunday in the Men’s Category. Mike Burge took First place on Saturday and second place in Sundays shoot. The Sparks Nebraska Spurs practice on Thursday evenings in Valentine and welcome anyone who is interested in fast draw to come try it out. They can provide equipment for first time shooter. The club is planning to host the State Championship and Great Plains Territorial competition in September at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine. This year it looks like the Kansas State Championship may also be held along with the September shoots in Valentine.
