Valentine Community Schools Superintendent Mike Halley was our guest on the KVSH Comment program Thursday morning. Mr. Halley discussed the recent overall school report card which gave Valentine Community Schools an overall excellent rating. Halley stated that this was an betterment from the previous year.

We also discussed the safety exercise coming up March 13th to work on school safety concerns. Several other area schools will come to participate as this will be one of only three exercises held around the state. They will work on Standard Response Protocol and Standard Reunification Methods with state officials. There will be no school that day and all staff will participate in the exercise.

Another topic covered by Mr. Halley was the Jobs for American Students program. The JAG program is looking to hire instructors in several fields to teach vocational and technical skills with hands on experiences and extracurricular activities provided by local businesses and civic
partners. This will help students develop real world skills. The core areas include: agriculture, food and natural resources, business and marketing, communications and information systems, health sciences, human sciences and construction or manufacturing. If you would like to apply for this position or would like further information, contact Mike Halley at 402 376 2730.
