The Valentine Chamber of Commerce has been busy planning upcoming events for 2024. The Chamber will host the annual Valentines Day activities with the ping pong ball drop at 5pm at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine. That will be followed by the annual people’s choice chili cook off in the 4-H building. There will be four places paid with chamber bucks. During the chili feed, Zi Beta Omega Sorority will have an old-fashioned cake/dessert walk.
Hedda Mathison won the design contest for the official heart city Valentines that are available for sale at various locations.
In other events, there will be two Nebraska Bike rides coming to Valentine in June. The Chamber golf tournament will be June 22nd at Fredrick Peak Golf Club. July 20th will be the citywide garage sale and Crazy Day will be August 3rd with the Chaduza Cook Off September 7th in the City Park.
