Cherry County Emergency Management informed KVSH Radio that no travel is advised at this time on all county roads. Road crews have not been out to open up the roads, and drifting snow has been reported. It was reported that at this time, the roads would get re-covered with drifts making the plows much less effective. As winds decrease this afternoon, crews will re-evaluate their effectiveness and begin to clear those county roads. State and U.S. Highways around the North Central Nebraska region are reported to be partly covered by snow, with ice also covering much of the area highways making travel difficult. Travelers who must travel on those State and U.S. Highways are advised to take the necessary precautions and slow down.
