According to Mark Kovar with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, construction plans are on schedule for the “West 4th Street in Valentine” project. This continues the work that had been done on Valentine’s Main Street. This project will be a total replacement of concrete highway surface from 4th and Cherry Streets where construction ended previously. This will extend to the north and west to the Minnechaduza Bridge on Highway 83. This construction will require one lane traffic between Edna Street to the bridge, and a detour to 3rd Street from Edna to Cherry Streets.
The project will be let-out to contractors to bid on the project February 1st and has a project completion goal of Fall 2023.
