After a 2 hour special meeting of the Cherry County Hospital Board of Trustees on Monday evening, the board voted to again table the decision on hiring a permanent CEO.  Board member Warren Arganbright stated that he felt the search committee needed to do more due diligence concerning contracts and terms and moved to table the issue until the regular monthly meeting scheduled for January 8th at 5pm.  It is hoped that a decision will be announced at that time.

Because the decision will not be made at this time, Interim CEO Nancy Hicks-Arsenault stated that she would continue serving in that capacity into January.  The original agreement was to expire at the end of the year.

Also at the meeting, the board heard the audit report which had to be rescheduled from earlier in the year.

Overall, despite being deficient in staffing at the office and other workforce problems, the hospital appears to be doing well.  The net position shows the hospital at $1.95M over the previous year.  Concerns that were brought up included staffing as well as billing being behind by almost 2 months in some cases.

The next regular meeting for the Cherry County Hospital Board of Trustees will be Monday January 8th at 5pm.
