Kim Burge, Executive Director of the North Central RC&D reported to KVSH News that the Upper Elkhorn NRD was awarded a $115,720.00 grant from the Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grants Program. This award is based on a grant application submitted by Burge and the North Central mRC&D. The grant will be used for a regional tire amnesty collection targeting m600 tons of old tires from the six county district. The collection is tentatively slated for the first part of April 2024. The amnesty will be mopen to Cherry, Brown, Kaya Paha, Rock and Holt County residents. Stay tuned to KVSH for more details in the days ahead.
