This Saturday is Shop Small Town Saturday where everyone is encouraged to support their local merchants by shopping in Valentine and area stores. The annual Parade of Lights will take place in downtown Valentine at 6pm CT Saturday evening. Come early to shop and stay for the parade which will begin at the corner of First and Main Streets. It will go North on Main and turn East on 5th Street then South on Green Street to the Cherry County Fairgrounds. There will be two categories with $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third place. At the fairgrounds, everyone is invited to enjoy the Christmas sweater contest, tree decorating contest and refreshments. Cash prizes for winners in the sweater contest and tree decorating contest will be awarded. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be there for pictures with the kids. Parade entry forms are available at KVSH Radio where they can be filled out and left, or returned by Noon on Friday the 24th. Be sure to listen the the live broadcast of the parade Saturday evening on KVSH and enjoy some holiday music. Chamber of Commerce punch cards need to be turned in on Saturday and the winner of the 500 dollars in chamber bucks will be announced during the parade.
