Incidents/Arrests:
(Previously Reported) On 11/13/2023 at approximately 9:02 am, the Valentine Police Department received a complaint of someone actively stalking a woman. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped near the intersection of B and Main Street. As the officer contacted the driver, a 26 year old South Dakota man, he fled the traffic stop. The officer initiated a pursuit and attempted to stop the vehicle. The pursuit was terminated a short time later due to the reckless manner that the suspect vehicle was being operated. The vehicle was located abandoned just outside the City limits of Valentine. Following a brief search, the suspect was located and arrested. The man was cited for flight to avoid arrest, disturbing the peace, trespassing, driving under the influence of alcohol, willful reckless driving, refusal of the chemical test and traffic violations. The Valentine Police Department was assisted by the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, and the Cherry County Emergency Management Office during this incident.

On 11/13/2023 at 8:45 pm, an accident with no injuries was reported in the 400 block of west highway 20.
On 11/15/2023 at 8:05 am, a dog at large was reported in the 400 block of east highway 20.

On 11/16/2023 at 12:28 am, a disturbance was reported in the 600 block of north Macomb Street.
On 11/16/2023 at 6:08 pm, a welfare check was requested in the 600 block of north Macomb Street.
On 11/16/2023 at 7:17 pm, a report of an unlawful and accidental discharge of a firearm was received from the 400 block of north Valentine Street.
On 11/17/2023 at 7:58 am, an officer was requested in the 600 block of north Macomb Street for a disturbance.
On 11/17/2023 at 7:06 pm, a trespasser was reported in the 100 block of west highway 20.
On 11/17/2023 at 9:02 pm, a welfare check was requested in the 600 block of north Macomb Street.
On 11/17/2023 at 11:12 pm, a disturbance was reported in the 100 block of north Main Street.
On 11/18/2023 at 8:09 am, a dog was reported at large in the 300 block of north Ray Street.
On 11/18/2023 at 1:16 pm, a dog was reported at large in t he 500 block of east 2nd Street.
