The historic Dumbbell Ranch was recently purchased by a couple area cattlemen. It was reported this spring that the sandhills ranch was being purchased by an entity out of Colorado, however that deal apparently had fallen-through. Al Davis of Hyannis purchased just over 11,000 acres of land for just over $10M, while the remaining roughly 4,800 acres was purchased by Christopher Gentry for just under $6.5M. These two own ranch land adjacent to the Dumbbell. According to Hall and Hall realtor Mark Johnson stated that the purchase helps to re-unify the original footprint of the Dumbbell Ranch when it was established over 100 years ago.
