On Halloween evening at 7:13 pm, officers from the Valentine Police Department and Cherry County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Western Street for a break-in and assault. During the incident, a firearm, along with other personal items, were stolen from the residence. A 48-year-old
Valentine man was arrested in connection with this incident. All property was recovered except for the firearm. The suspect is not cooperating with the investigation which is on going. If you have information about this incident or know the whereabouts of the firearm, contact the police at

Another incident occurred in the 100 block of North Wood St. mid afternoon Monday October 30th. Police report a 36 year old Valentine man was apprehended in connection with that burglary.
Authorities are also investigating a break-in last week in the 900 block of East Tenth street. The break-in occurred at 10:28 in morning. Officers are still seeking information. If you have video footage of this or the other crimes, please contact the Valentine Police Department.
