Have you ever wondered how artists learn new techniques, new styles or how to use new materials? Artists learn in a wide variety of ways, some learn from family members and friends, some take workshops, classes, read books, or view tutorials online, and some may even go to college for art
instruction.
In the case of the local Sand Painters Art Club, the members often share their ideas, information, and techniques at monthly meetings.
This month’s exhibit at the Valentine Public Library is based on various artists’ creations that are the result of all these methods of gaining new information. Pieces range in media: gel prints, pastels, oils, watercolor, and drawings. Sand Painters Art Club members invite the public to stop by the library and see what they have learned.
If you are interested in the Sand Painters Art Club activities, check their Facebook page, or join them for an art experience. Sand Painters meet once a month at the Mid Plains Community College campus on E. Highway 20. All
artists of all skill levels are welcome!
