Work on US 83 involving the Thedford viaduct is set to begin Monday, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. (DOT). M.E. Collins Contracting Company, Inc. of Wahoo was awarded the project that includes bridge joint repairs on the Thedford viaduct. Traffic will be routed with lane closures and temporary traffic signals. A 14-foot width restriction will be imposed. Work is expected to be completed in October. The DOT also reported the North Loup River Bridge on Highway 97 north of Mullen was reopened on Thursday after being closed for a couple of weeks for emergency repairs.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
