Last Saturday, Josh Krueger took part in the first annual Grand River Dam Paddle in Cherokee State Park near Langley, OK. Josh did a 5 and a half mile downstream, then 5.5 miles upriver back to the starting line for a total of 11 miles. Krueger finished in an hour 56 minutes. Krueger won the solo kayak division, and the second vessel to finish overall. The first vessel to finish was a tandem kayak paddled by former Olympian Mike Herbert and his daughter Michelle.
Coming up this weekend, several local kayakers will be taking part in the Middle Loup River Challenge in Thedford.
