The Jennie M. Melham Medical Center Board of Directors recently announced that they had filled the Chief Executive Officer vacancy. Kyle Kellum began his duties as CEO for the Broken Bow hospital on Monday, August 14th. Mr. Kellum had been CEO for the Cherry County Hospital and Clinics, a 21-bed, independent critical access hospital in Valentine, Nebraska. Kellum was a focal point over recent months at Cherry County Hospital after resigning to take a similar position in Washington and then deciding to stay at the Valentine facility before ultimately announcing that he would be going to Broken Bow. The Cherry County Hospital board of trustees is currently formulating the search process for a new CEO. It has also been reported to KVSH that Dr. Allegra Ponshock will also be leaving the medical staff. KVSH erroronoulsy reported that Dr, Ponshock was going to Broken Bow. After visiting with Dr. Ponshock, while she is leaving, she has not announced where she will be going.
