True Value Hardware is our featured business of the week on Heart City Radio. Currently owned by John and Lila Miller at the corner of 3rd and Main Street, the business started out with Ray Eikoff’s “Coast to Coast” hardware store about a block away where Flowerland is currently. After the Marian Hotel fire, Ray purchased the lot where the current building was constructed. It remained a “Coast to Coast” store until 1999. John and Lila bought the store in 1998, and after a couple of years, they changed the store to a True Value hardware store, continuing to sell many of the same kinds of tools, hardware supplies and household items that had always been provided. John also does bike repair along with sales, too. True Value is open seven days a week for their customers’ convenience, Monday through Saturday from 8am-6pm, and Sundays from 1 to 4.
