Mid Plains Community College, Valentine Campus, recently held SCUBA classes in Valentine for several students. The Valentine Family Aquatic Center accommodated MPCC with the use of their pool. Deland Humphrey was the instructor of the six person class. Deland is a member of the Platte River Scuba Divers. There is another class in the works for next summer as well as a Discover Scuba and a “Bubble Makers” class for younger swimmers to start swimming.
