The 30th annual Nebraska Star Party is underway in the KVSH area. Registration began Sunday evening at Merritt Dam Southwest of Valentine. At this time there are 375 registrants with more coming to push the number over 400in the next couple of days. This will be the first star party to be held under the new designation as an International Dark Skies area about Merritt Dam.
Wednesday events will be held at Valentine High School for beginners school, swap meet and speakers programs during the day. The public is welcome to join the public star party on Friday evening at
8pm at the Snake River area of the reservoir at the Ainsworth Landing area. There will be an introduction program to begin the evening. For more information go the nebraskastarparty.org.
