The Cherry County Hospital Board of Trustees met Tuesday evening for a special meeting with the primary focus on hiring a new hospital CEO and CFO after the recent resignations of CEO Kyle Kellum and CFO Amanda Davidson. According to board president Roger Dunn, the board voted to hire Nancy Hicks Arsnault as interim CEO for a six month contract. The salary is still to be negotiated. Hicks-Arsnault was recently serving as Director of Nursing. Concerning the CFO position, Kyle Kellum will work out details on hiring an interim person to fill that position. He will be working with a candidate who had applied.

Mr. Dunn told KVSH Radio that this meeting was the first for newly appointed board members Jim Van Winkle and Greg Perrett. Mike Birchfield of Merriman will take a position on the board at the end of August. At the regular meeting on July 25th the board will start looking at candidates for the permanent CEO position. In other business, Kyle Kellum presented the board with some facts about the current shortage of nurses both locally and worldwide.
