Incidents/Arrests:
On May 28, 2023 at 9:02 pm, an officer responded to the 300 block of west 4th Street for an assault with a weapon. A 25 year old Valentine man was arrested for assault.
On May 29, 2023 at 8:15 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of north Cherry Street. A juvenile South Dakota male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license and no vehicle registration.
On May 29, 2023 at 9:16 pm, a 2005 Silver Chevy Impala with Nebraska license plate #75D31 was stolen from the 600 block of east highway 20. Case is pending suspect identification.
On May 29, 2023 at 11:34 pm, a traffic stop was conducted at 4th and Cherry Streets. A 27 year old South Dakota man was cited for possession of marijuana less than one ounce and drug paraphernalia.
On May 30, 2023 at 1:27 pm, at the request of the Valentine Community Schools and Cherry County Attorney, an investigation into excessive truancy was conducted in the 400 block of north Macomb Street.
On May 30, 2023 at 2:04 pm, a complaint of terroristic threats being made via social media was filed with the department. All information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
On May 30, 2023 at 4:59 pm, a shoplifting was reported in the 600 block of east highway 20. Case is pending suspect identification.
On May 31, 2023 at 5:21 pm, an accident with injuries was reported at 5th and Green Streets. A Valentine juvenile female was cited for no driver’s license and a stop sign violation.
On June 3, 2023 at 4:06 pm, a 2004 Gold Chevy with South Dakota license plate #57D564, was stolen from the 300 block of east highway 20. Case is pending suspect identification.

On May 28, 2023 at 3:13 pm, suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of south Main Street.
On May 28, 2023 at 10:21 pm, an officer fielded a threats via social media complaint from the 100 block of north Main Street.
On May 31, 2023 at 9:01 am, a dog at large was reported on Green Street.
On May 31, 2023 at 3:01 pm, an officer responded to the 200 block of east 5th Street for a domestic disturbance.
On June 1, 2023 at 2:22 pm, an officer responded to the 1000 block of east highway 20 for a complaint of an attempted theft of services. A suspect has been identified.
On June 1, 2023 at 11:11 pm, a noise complaint was called in from the area of 6th and Green Street.
On June 2, 2023 at 10:21 pm, a barking dog complaint was called in from the 200 block of east 5th Street.
On June 3, 2023 at 10:29 am, an accident with no injuries occurred in the 100 block of east highway 20.
