The Sand Painters Art Club will send 17 works of art to the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs’ state art show. Best of Show is “Morning Roundup” graphite drawing by Chana Orton of Mills, NE. Other art advancing on to state, “Norden Chute” acrylic painting also by Chana. “I Want to be a Cowboy” acrylic painting and “Green Colt” charcoal drawing by David Dorsey, “Stars Over the Niobrara” and “Teen in Wilbur Merch” photographs by Chris Mosner, “Sandhills Senescence” photograph by Jasmine Hoefs, and “Littoral LIfe” fiber collage by Jan Knispel all of Valentine, NE. “”Dancing Color” and “Approaching Fall” oil paintings by Priscilla Portenier, “Morning Rush” and “Turkey Creek” oil paintings by Joan Swim both of Springview, NE. “Sundown at the Old Place” and “Section Line Road” oil paintings by Rick Yusten of Gordon, NE. “Bay At Work” charcoal and graphite drawing by Susan Reenders McNaught of Blunt, SD. “Early Morning” and “Technicolor Drive” pastels by Christine May (Chris Cernetisch) of Burke, SD.

All these artworks that were entered in this local contest will be on display at the Valentine Public Library for the month of May and then the state representative art will compete in the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs’ state show in Columbus June 8, 9, and 10th, 2023.
