Incidents/Arrests:
On 03/26/2023 at 2:34 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of highway 97. A 26 year old Valentine man was arrested on suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence.
On 03/27/2023 at 7:50 am, officers responded to the 500 block of north Government Street for a disturbance and report of a theft. A 28 year old Valentine woman was identified as the suspect.
On 03/30/2023 at 9:02 am, an automobile was stolen from the 400 block of north Macomb Street. The vehicle was recovered in Casper, Wyoming. 2 suspects out of Colorado were arrested in connection with this theft. In addition, both suspects had extraditable warrants for escaping from the Colorado Department of Corrections.
On 03/30/2023 at 9:57 am, officers handled an incident involving the possession of a firearm on restricted property. All information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
On 03/31/2023 at 9:11 am, an investigation into excessive truancy was conducted in the 200 block of south Helen Street at the request of the Valentine Community Schools and Cherry County Attorney.
On 03/31/2023 at 4:15 pm, officers responded to the 100 block of south Wood Street for an assault and criminal mischief. All information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
Calls/Reported Offenses:
On 03/26/2023 at 3:29 pm, a hit and run accident was reported at the intersection of 2nd and Government Streets. A suspect was identified.
On 03/28/2023 at 1:34 pm, an accident with no injuries was reported in the 500 block of east 5th Street.
On 03/29/2023 at 5:28 pm, a suspicious vehicle was reported in the 300 block of north Ray Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Sioux Falls, SD.
On 03/29/2023 at 4:34 am, an officer responded to the 100 block of south Wood Street for a report of a break in.
On 03/31/2023 at 9:21 am, an officer received a complaint about harassment.
On 04/01/2023 at 2:38 pm, an officer received a 2nd complaint about harassment.
