Three people from the KVSH area were involved in a serious motor vehicle accident in Kansas recently.

On Monday, March 20 just after 4:30 pm, the Kansas Highway Patrol says a 1997 Chrysler Cirrus driven by Cordell Jeffcoat of Wood Lake was northbound on Hwy 183 just east of Greensburg Kansas when it was hit by a westbound 2020 Freightliner semi driven by a 71 year old Utah man, David Cox.

Cordell and his passengers, Tacie Hawkins and Audrey Brawner were transported to area hospitals. It was reported that Jeffcoat and Hawkins were not wearing seatbelts and are being treated for serious injuries, while Brawner was treated for less severe injuries. The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.

According to a “GO FUND ME” account that has been set-up online, Hawkins remains in the ICU at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS, while Cordell is recovering at Madonna Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. Anyone who would like to make a donation towards their medical funds can go to https://gofund.me/dfee5c16. Audrey Brawner was released and is recuperating at home.
