Area residents now have the opportunity to support the food pantry operated by Northwest Community Action Partnership in Valentine by donating beef. The food pantry serves about 40 to 50 families every month. This includes families and elderly in Cherry County. They are open 9 to 12 and 1 to 4 each Tuesday and Wednesday at the old gym in Valentine. Dana Ramm(Rom), a ranch wife south of Valentine, came up with the idea of local people supporting the food pantry with high protein beef. Ranchers can donate hamburger to the food pantry when they have an animal processed at Valentine Locker. Citizens can also purchase hamburger at the locker and have the locker store it for the food pantry. Valentine FFA members will transport the hamburger to the food pantry as needed. Donations can be tax deductible. Residents served by the pantry will have access to local beef to be distributed by Northwest Community Action. For information you may contact Dana Ramm at 402 322 0544.
