On February 4, Cherry County 4-H had two teams competing at the Nebraska 4-H First Lego League Robotics Regional Qualifier in Henderson, NE. The Badger Bot Team qualified for the State Competition for the third year in a row with mostly all returning members: RJ Dean, Duncan Mosner, Isaac Utecht, Allen Ward, Tyler Harp, Cole Boes, Kaden Garwood and Tilden Foster. The Badger Bots received 2nd place in the Innovation Presentation portion of the competition with their idea for a geothermal cattle tank. They are coached by Andrew Utecht and James Ward. They will compete at the State Competition on February 18 in Columbus, NE. Cherry County also expanded this year for the first time and had a second team competing.
