The Wreathes Across America project was recently completed by Leo Brinda Unit 90 Auxiliary. After a two week delay because of snow storms, the auxiliary was able to hold their program and place the wreaths on graves on December 31st. There are over 900 veterans graves at Mount Hope Cemetery and 90% of them had wreathes placed on them by the volunteers. There were a few that could not be found because for the snow drifts. Another project of Unit 90 is underway at this time. The Valentines For Vets project will collect Valentines to send to veterans in nursing homes, hospitals and assisted living centers in the region. The goal is 800 Valentines. Those Valentines can be dropped off at the Library, Extension Office or KVSH Radio. The deadline is February 3rd. Call Michele Garwood at 402 389 1655 for more information. Groups, individuals, families and school classes can contribute. Valentines should not be larger that a sheet of normal paper.
