Officer Jasmine Hoefs returned to Valentine about 6:30 last night with almost 200 people turning out to welcome her back home. Officer Hoefs was injured in the line of duty in mid December while helping at an emergency scene. She has been in the hospital in Norfolk undergoing treatment for injures mainly to her shoulder and arm. She returned home with an escort of other emergency workers and citizens.
Coincidentally this occurred on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day – an opportunity to thank the men and women who keep everyone safe. Nebraska U-S Senator Deb Fischer says “it’s particularly important
that we use this special day to celebrate our law enforcement officers because in some parts of the country their life-saving work is undervalued and even demonized. The Valentine community showed up to show support for officer Hoefs as she recovers from her injuries. Welcome home Jasmine.
