On 12/16/2022,Valentine Police Officer Jasmine Hoefs was critically injured while helping a citizen who was experiencing a medical emergency. She was transported to the Cherry County Hospital and subsequently ground transported to Faith Regional Medical Center in Norfolk, NE where she has undergone medical procedures to repair her injuries. It appears that officer Hoefs will be undergoing medical procedure for the next few weeks. Hoefs is optimistic that she will have a speedy recovery and will be back serving the citizens of Valentine in record time. Funds have been established at three Valentine Banks to help with expenses of Officer Hoefs and her family. Those accounts are at Union Bank and Trust, Security First Bank and at Sandhills State Bank.
