Incidents/Arrests:
On 10/30/2022 at 4:12 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop at Hugh and Essex Streets. A 36 year old South Dakota man was arrested on drug charges.
On 11/02/2022 at 7:43 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop near highway 20 and Thatcher Street. A 60 year old Seneca woman was cited for a school bus violation.
On 11/02/2033 at 7:50 am, an officer responded to the 500 block of west 4th Street for a domestic disturbance. A 24 year old Valentine man was arrested for domestic assault.
On 11/05/2022 at 10:25 am, a fraud report was filed with the department. Assistance will be sought from the department of labor and housing.
On 11/05/2022 at 12:51 pm, an officer responded to the 200 block of south Helen Street for a domestic disturbance. The suspect fled prior to officer arrival. All information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
On 11/05/2022 at 2:13 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of east highway 20 in regards to a trespasser. The suspect has been identified and all reports forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
Reported Offenses:
On 11/01/2022 at 11:46 pm, an officer was requested to respond to the 100 block of north Main Street to investigate the smell of smoke. The source was burning food.
On 11/02/2022 at 7:59 am, 2 complaints of vehicles going past the school bus while lights/sign activated were called in.
On 11/02/2022 at 8:46 am, a subject wanted to report a civil dispute that potentially would require law enforcement assistance.
On 11/04/2022 at 3:32 am, an officer responded to the 200 block of south Helen Street for a disturbance. A male subject was removed from the property.
On 11/05/2022 at 3:49 pm, a caller reported an open door on the Girl Scout Cabin. Entry into the cabin was gained by force. Case is pending suspect identification.
