Incidents/Arrests
On 10/17/2022 at 12:55 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of east highway 20 for a report of theft. A 33 year old Valentine man was cited for shoplifting.
On 10/20/2022 at 5:11 pm, officers received a report of elder abuse/neglect. The case is under investigation.
On 10/22/2022 at 12:31 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop at 4th and Wood Streets. A 33 year old South Dakota man was cited for no driver’s license, no child safety restraint and possession of marijuana less than one ounce. A 2nd 33 year old South Dakota man was arrested on an active Cherry County warrant.
On 10/22/2022 at 3:29 am, an officer responded to the 100 block of south Wood Street regarding someone trying to break in to a home. A 25 year old Valentine woman was arrested for criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
Reported Offenses:
On 10/16/2022 at 1:42 am, an officer responded to 100 N. Thatcher Street for someone trying to break into a home. No one was located.
On 10/17/2022 at 7:19 am, a report of suspicious activity was called in. No contacts were made.
On 10/17/2022 at 9:32 am, a request to document harassment via text messaging was called in.
On 10/18/2022 at 9:33 am, another fake $20 bill was brought to the office. It had been passed at a local business.
On 10/18/2022 at 3:18 pm, an officer responded to the 500 block of north Hugh Street for a hit and run. It appears that the suspect likely backed out of a parking stall across the street and struck the car.
On 10/19/2022 at 12:04 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of north Main Street for a report of property damage. The victim requested the matter be documented only.
On 10/19/2022 at 9:54 pm, a disturbance was reported in the 200 block of east B Street. A male subject was removed from the property.
On 10/19/2022 at 11:31 pm, a disturbance was reported in the 100 block of north Main Street. A male subject was removed from the property.
On 10/21/2022 at 3:23 am, a disturbance was reported in the 100 block of south Wood Street. A male subject was removed from the property.
On 10/22/2022 at 1:38 am and 2:19 am, disturbances were reported in the 200 block of south Hall Street. No action was taken.
On 10/22/2022 at 3:00 am, suspicious activity was reported at 100 N. Thatcher Street. Nothing was located.
