October 9 – 15, 2022

Incidents/Arrests:

On 10/10/2022 at 3:36 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 3rd and Cherry Streets.  A 63 year old South Dakota man was cited for possession of marijuana less than one ounce, no driver’s license and not having a child restrained in a safety seat.

On 10/10/2022 at 8:38 pm, an officer responded to the 600 block of west highway 20 for an assault.  A 22 year old South Dakota man was arrested for domestic assault and drug possession charges.

On 10/12/2022 at 1:20 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of north Government Street.  A 36 year old Valentine man was arrested on suspicion of operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

On 10/13/2022 at 8:13 am, an officer received a report of someone making terroristic threats via social media.  The case is under investigation.

Reported Offenses: On 10/09/2022 at 5:20 pm, an officer responded to the 200 block of north Ray Street for a disturbance.  No action was taken.

On 10/10/2022 at 8:32 am, an officer received a report that a drone was being operated at “eye level.”  The drone and operator were not located.

On 10/10/2022 at 9:56 am an officer received a call from the 400 block of east 3rd Street regarding a missing person.  The individual was later located and was safe.

On 10/10/2022 at 3:50 pm, an officer was requested to conduct a welfare check in the 200 block of north Wood Street.   No action was taken.

On 10/10/2022 at 4:39 pm, an officer was requested to respond to the 500 block of north Green Street regarding child abuse/neglect.  All information was forwarded to the appropriate jurisdiction.

On 10/11/2022 at 9:20 am, contact was made with a parent in the 200 block of south Helen Street regarding excessive truancy.

On 10/11/2022 at 12:12 pm, a motor vehicle was reportedly stolen from the 800 block of Donaher Street.  A report was filed.

On 10/12/2022 at 1:19 am, an officer received a report of someone trespassing in the 100 block of north Wood Street.  No contact was made.

On 10/12/2022 at 11:42 am, an officer responded to the 100 block of west highway 20 for an accident with no injury.  The driver struck a concrete barrier.

Officers responded to 77 calls for service this week.
