Girls Class C State Golf Results Two day tournament, September 10 and 11, in Columbus NE at the Elks Country Club. The Class C tournament consisted of the top 15 schools from across the state and Valentine ended with 7th place after shooting a team score of 390 and 397. With a total of 93 girls competing, Valentine had one individual medalist, Mekallyn Bancroft, coming in at 5th place. She had an impressive two day total of 167. Mekallyn shot an 84 on the first day, followed by an 83 on the second. The remaining varsity player results: 19th- Kaetryn Bancroft 92/90 63rd-Kaylee Hanson 105/113 76th- Jaycie Cox 117/111 84th- JoJo Jordan 109/127 The girls golf team has had a very successful season. They have brought home 1st place from 6 different tournaments, but the most exciting one was winning districts. Going in to the state tournament with that win had the girls ready to compete, and finishing 7th out of 15 teams was quite an accomplishment. Having the leadership of our two senior golfers, Jaycie Cox and Mekallyn Bancroft, helped the team tremendously throughout the season. They will be missed next year.
