This past weekend, the Hunters’ moon, the full moon of October, rose for a three day span, lasting from Saturday night through Tuesday morning. And the Valentine Chamber of Commerce has announced their annual Moonlight Madness event, and there’s another mystery afoot! On Wednesday October 19th, from 6 until 9pm, the Chamber will sponsor a murder mystery that you can participate in while you visit participating merchants. Collect clues and solve the mystery for your chance to win $250 in Chamber Bucks. Then on Monday the 31st, the kids’ costume parade will begin at 4pm at the corner of 1st and Main Streets and go north to the Valentine Public Library where the annual “Scare in the Square” will await the little ghosts and goblins sponsored by the Valentine Police Department with games, candy and prizes. Looking ahead, the Holiday Preview will be Sunday November 20th featuring an appearance by Santa! And as you put together your holiday shopping plans, remember that Chamber Bucks make great gifts for folks who can use them just like cash at any participating Valentine Chamber of Commerce business.
