Valentine Police Department report for September 18 - 24, 2022
Incidents/Arrests:
On 09/18/2022 at 9:14 am, an officer was requested to respond to the 100 block of
north Thatcher Street for a domestic disturbance. A 35 year old Valentine man was
arrested for domestic assault, child abuse/neglect and drug possession.
On 09/18/2022, the department received a report of a sexual assault. The case is
under investigation.
On 09/21/2022 at 8:44 am, an officer responded to the 100 block of north Wood Street
for a domestic disturbance. A 31 year old Valentine man was identified as a
suspect. An arrest warrant has been requested.
On 09/21/2022 at 4:53 pm, a delayed report of a domestic assault and a sexual
assault was filed with the department. All information was forwarded to the Cherry
County Attorney.
On 09/22/2022 at 10:28 am, a report of Compulsory Education: Juvenile Truancy was
filed with the department. All information was forwarded to the Cherry County
Attorney.
On 09/23/2022 at 10:43 am, an officer responded to the 200 block of north Hall
Street for an assault. All information was forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
Reported Offenses/Calls:
On 09/18/2022 at 7:31 pm, a property damage complaint was reported in the 200 block
of north Hall Street. No suspects have been identified.
On 09/19/2022 at 3:44 am, a barking dog complaint was called in from the 400 block
of north Macomb Street. The owner was not located.
On 09/20/2022 at 7:35 am, officers responded to the 200 block of south Hall Street
for a report of an assault. No action was needed.
On 09/21/2022 at 2:57 pm, an officer was requested in the 500 block of north Macomb
Street for a civil standby for property retrieval.
On 09/22/2022 at 5:17 pm, officers responded to the 200 block of east highway 20 for
a disturbance. 2 individuals were removed from the property. At 5:43 pm, officers
were again requested to remove the duo from a separate property. No action was
requested.
On 09/22/2022 at 9:26 pm, a report of a reckless driver was called in. A juvenile
male driver was identified. Parents were contacted.
On 09/23/2022 at 9:12 am, an officer was requested for a property damage that had
occurred in the 300 block of north Thatcher Street. No suspects have been
identified.
On 09/23/2022 at 2:54 pm, an officer was requested to Dowden Street for a suspicious
person in the area. No action was needed.
On 09/23/2022 at 3:15 pm, a hit and run accident took place in the 100 block of west
highway 20. The suspect was driving a light blue Chevy Equinox with Nebraska 82
county plates.
Officers responded to 69 calls for service.
