Valentine Police Department report for September 11 – 17, 2022
Incidents/Arrests:
On 09/13/2022 at 9:54 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop near 5th and Cherry Streets. A 22 year old Wellfleet, Nebraska man was cited for a stop sign violation.
On 09/14/2022 at 7:44 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop near 4th and Government Streets. A 21 year old Valentine woman was cited for a school bus violation.
On 09/14/2022 at 11:09 am, an officer received a report of a possible burglary that had occurred in the 200 block of north Macomb Street. The investigation is ongoing.
On 09/14/2022 at 12:15 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of west A Street. A 26 year old Valentine man was arrested on an active Minnehaha, SD warrant.
On 09/15/2022 at 4:22 pm, an officer was requested in the 200 block of north Ray Street for a civil standby. During the contact, an 18 year old South Dakota woman was cited for drug possession.
On 09/16/2022 at 2:45 pm, the department received a report of an unlawful possession of sexually explicit images of a minor. The investigation is under investigation.
Reported Offenses:
On 09/12/2022 at 11:15 am, an officer received a report of graffiti being written on the Cowboy Trail threatening to harm law enforcement. Suspect identification is needed.
On 09/14/2022 at 7:53 am, an officer was requested to the 700 block of west highway 20 for a non-injury accident. All information will be forwarded to the State.
On 09/14/2022 at 10:21 pm, officers responded to the 300 block of north Ray Street for a report of a prowler. No contact was made.
On 09/15/2022 at 8:53 pm, a burglary was reportedly taking place in the 200 block of south Helen Street. Officers found everything to be fine.
On 09/16/2022 at 4:40 pm, officers were requested to the 200 block of east highway 20 to remove subjects from the property. No law enforcement action was needed.
On 09/16/2022 at 7:17 pm, officers responded to the 600 block of north Cherry Street for a disturbance. No action was needed.
On 09/17/2022 at 4:02 pm, a report of a physical disturbance taking place in the 500 block of north Macomb Street was called in. All parties involved decided to settle the issue without law enforcement involvement.
On 09/17/2022 at 5:51 pm, officers responded to 6th and Cherry Streets for a verbal dispute. No action was needed.
Officers responded to 75 calls for service during that week week.
