Incidents/Arrests:
On 08/21/2022 at 8:39 pm, an officer made contact with 2 residents in the 500 block of north Macomb Street. The two men, a 54 year old man and 66 year old man, were both cited for city ordinance violations.
On 08/21/2022 at 8:47 pm, an officer made contact with a 39 year old man from Valentine. He was cited for city ordinance violations for his residence in the 500 block of north Ray Street.
On 08/22/2022 at 8:05 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of east 5th Street. A 38 year old Valentine woman was cited for a vehicle registration violation.
On 08/23/2022 at 8:41 am, and officer received a report of a vehicle theft. Following the investigation the matter was determined to be unfounded.
On 08/23/2022 at 5:36 pm, an officer responded to the 600 block of east highway 20 for a report of shoplifting. The case is pending suspect identification.
On 08/24/2022 at 9:13 am, an officer fielded a criminal mischief report in the 200 block of north Main Street. The case is pending suspect identification.
Reported Offenses:
On 08/22/2022 at 10:38 am, an officer responded to a delayed hit and run accident in the 300 block of north Hall Street. The suspect is unknown.
On 08/22/2022 at 3:09 pm, a caller from the 200 block of North Victoria Street found drug paraphernalia. The items were turned over to law enforcement.
On 08/24/2022 at 12:09 pm, a caller from the 400 block of north Green Street found a controlled substance. The items were turned over to law enforcement.
On 08/25/2022 at 3:37 pm, officers responded to the 400 block of west highway 20 for a verbal dispute. The parties involved were separated.
On 08/26/2022 at 7:39 pm, officers responded to the 100 block of west highway 20 for a report of an assault. The case is awaiting suspect identification.
On 08/27/2022 at 5:50 pm, officers responded to the 800 block of west highway 20 for a disturbance. Those involved were asked to leave.

August 28 - September 3, 2022 Incidents/Arrests: On 08/28/2022 at 6:44 am, an officer was called to the 200 block of east highway 20 for an assault. The suspect has been identified and an arrest warrant has been requested. On 08/28/2022 at 9:11 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of west highway 20. An 18 year old Valentine man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. On 08/29/2022 at 10:36 pm, an officer responded to the 200 block of south Hall Street for an assault. A 47 year old South Dakota man was arrested for domestic assault and possession of marijuana less than one ounce. On 08/30/2022 at 9:41 am, an officer responded to the 700 block of east 7th Street for an assault. The case has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review. On 08/30/2022 at 2:18 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of north Main Street for an assault. The case has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review. On 08/30/2022 at 5:47 pm, an officer was called to the 500 block of north Green Street to take a report of an assault that had occurred in the 200 block of west highway 20. The case is pending suspect identification. On 09/03/2022 at 10:58 am, a 36 year old Valentine man was cited for city ordinance violations that were occurring in the 100 block of south Helen Street. On 09/03/2022 at 11:56 am, an officer took a report of a theft that had occurred in the 600 block of east Highway 20. The suspect has been identified and an arrest warrant has been requested. Reported Offenses: On 08/30/2022 at 11:06 am, an officer was requested to the 300 block of east highway 20 to remove a subject from the premises. The subject left. No action taken. On 08/30/2022 at 2:26 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of west highway 20 for an accident with no injuries. Involved parties exchanged information. No action taken. On 08/31/2022 at 10:14 am, a disturbance was reportedly taking place in the 100 block of north Hall Street. No action was taken. On 09/01/2022 at 8:47 am, the department received a report of child abuse. The Nebraska CPS was requested to assist with the investigation. On 09/01/2022 at 12:24 pm, a subject requested extra patrols in the 500 block of west 3rd Street due to receiving threatening messages. On 09/02/2022 at 3:35 pm, a non-injury accident was reported in the 100 block of west highway 20. Involved parties exchanged information. No action taken. On 09/02/2022 at 6:19 pm, an officer was requested in the 200 block of east highway 20 due to a suspicious person in the area. No action taken. On 09/03/2022 at 10:58 am, the department received a report of social media harassment taking place. The investigation is ongoing. Officers responded to 99 calls for service this week.
