Thousands upon thousands of people are preparing to visit Grand Island’s Fonner Park this week for the annual Nebraska State Fair. The 153rd time-honored tradition celebrates the achievements of all Nebraskans including the state’s youth, agriculture, technology, education, entertainment, handmade crafts and baked goods, and of course delicious food. The state fair will begin Friday, August 26 and continue through Monday, September 5. The 11-day celebration features 4-H and FFA activities, recognition of veterans, concerts and music, dirt events (bull fighting, tractor pull, demo derby, rodeo, horse events) free events, carnival, agriculture and educational experiences, marathon, cooking presentations, food and vendors, contests, parades, and overall fun for all ages.
