The First of August brings bikers and road construction. There seems to be road construction every direction in and around Valentine. Highway 20 west of Valentine will get resurfacing and traffic will be maintained with pilot cars. There will be some change to traffic flow at Cherry Street and Main Street and highway 20 for Main Street infrastructure work. Meanwhile motor cycles continue to roll through Valentine on their way to
Sturgis SD. The annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will run August 5-14, 2022.
The Annual Motorcycle Rally™ turns the town of 6,800 into a city of over 450,000 each year. In 2015 they hosted the 75th Annual Rally with an estimated attendance of 739,000! Besides the non-stop excitement found on the Legendary Main Street, motorcycle enthusiasts enjoy concerts, charity rides, burnouts, stunt riding, great food, and new product manufacturing showcases. Concerts this year will include Travis Tritt, Williams and Ree, Locash, Uncle Kracker, Rob Zombie, Slaughter and John Pardi.
