The Nebraska Department of Labor reported Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for June is 1.9 percent. The rate is unchanged from the May rate and is down 0.6 percentage points from the June 2021 rate of 2.5 percent. The rate continues to be a record low for Nebraska.
Nebraska’s June rate is the second lowest rate in the country.
Blaine County had the highest unemployment rate in the area in June at 3.9 percent.
The lowest unemployment rate in the area in June belonged to Rock County at 1.6 percent. Cherry County’s 1.8 percent unemployment rate also fell below the state average. Keya Paha County at 2.0 percent.
The lowest unemployment rate in the state in June belonged to Wheeler County at 1.4 percent.
The national seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June is 3.6 percent.
