The Valentine Police Department Week in Review:
June 12 – 18, 2022
Reported Offenses:
On 06/13/2022 at 12:52 am, an officer was requested to respond to the Valentine City Park for a noise complaint. The officer contacted late camping arrivals and asked that they quiet down.
On 06/13/2022 at 9:05 am, an officer was requested to document property damage to a home in the 200 block of south Helen Street.
On 06/14/2022 at 1:32 pm, a complaint of a pickup blocking the alley was called in. The officer responded to the 200 block of north Government Street and asked the pickup owner to move.
On 06/14/2022 at 4:50 pm, the theft of property from the cemetery was reported. The owner later called back to say everything was ok and law enforcement was no longer needed.
On 06/15/2022 at 8:05 am, an officer was contacted and asked to document property damage caused by a driver backing into the side of a building.
On 06/15/2022 at 10:39 am, a bicyclist filed a complaint regarding a reckless driver that nearly struck them.
On 06/16/2022 at 3:05 pm, an officer responded to the 600 block of west highway 20 to take a harassment report. All involved decided to resolve the issue without law enforcement involvement.
On 06/16/2022 at 7:10 pm, a report of an unauthorized use of a financial transaction device was filed with the department. The victim wanted the theft documented.
On 06/16/2022 at 10:15 pm, officers responded to the 200 block of east highway 20 for a verbal altercation that had started in the parking lot and had moved into the business lobby. All parties involved were contacted. No action taken.
On 06/17/2022 at 11:23 pm, a caller wanted to document an altercation that had occurred between the caller, who had been on foot, and another party in a vehicle.
Incidents/Arrests:
On 06/13/2022 at 1:17 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of north Main Street. A 26 year old South Dakota woman was arrested on multiple drug and alcohol charges, child abuse and driving while revoked.
On 06/15/2022 at 12:44 pm, an officer responded to the 800 block of Bias Street in regards to a disturbance. A 27 year old Valentine woman was arrested for terroristic threats and disturbing the peace.
Officers responded to 118 calls for service this week.
