May 29 – June 4, 2022
Reported Offenses:
On 05/29/2022 at 4:26 pm, an officer responded to the 700 block of east Highway 20 regarding a male subject passing a fraudulent $50. The issue was addressed onsite by the officer and the male subject was criminally trespassed from the business.
On 05/30/2022 at 11:48 am, an officer responded to 5th and Hall Streets for an accident with no injuries. A report was forwarded to the State of Nebraska.
On 05/31/2022 at 4:30 pm, a complaint was called in asking officers to make contact with campers in the City Park that had exceeded the 5 day limit for camping.
On 06/01/2022 at 11:10 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of north Main Street for a fight. All subjects had left prior to officer arrival.
On 06/02/2022 at 1:00 am, officers responded to the 400 block of east 5th Street for a report of an unknown male hanging around the residence. Officers were unable to located the subject.
On 06/02/2022 at 2:26 pm, officers were called to the 700 block of east Highway 20 for a theft. The case is pending suspect identification.
On 06/02/2022 at 8:26 pm, officers responded to the 200 block of east Highway 20 for a report of a scam. The male caller claimed to be the regional manager of the business and was trying to obtain information regarding the businesses’ current financial status. No information was provided.
On 06/03/2022 at 7:02 pm, a report that a man was laying along the road in the 700 block of west Highway 20. The Cherry County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist. The man was given a ride and turned over to their family for care.
On 06/04/2022 at 2:30 am, officers responded to the 200 block of north Ray Street for a noise complaint. No disturbance was located.
On 06/04/2022 at 1:13 pm, a complaint was received regarding animal neglect in the 300 block of Little’s Trailer Court. The issue will be monitored.
On 06/04/2022 at 6:55 pm, a report of a man trying to flag down vehicles was called in. The subject was contacted with no action being taken.
Incidents/Arrests:
On 05/29/2022 at 2:51 am, officers responded to the 500 block of north Valentine Street for a report of a child abduction. A 21 year old Valentine man was arrested for domestic assault, child abuse, burglary and kidnapping.
Officers responded to 84 calls for service this week.
