Incidents/Arrests
On 05/09/2022 at 8:55 pm, an officer responded to the 900 block of west B Street for a report of a suspicious person parked in their driveway. A 46 year old Valentine woman was arrested on an active Cherry County warrant.
On 05/11/2022 at 10:45 pm, an officer responded to the 100 block of north Wood Street to take a report of an assault. The investigation is ongoing.
On 05/13/2022 at 3:19 am, an officer responded to the 700 block of Donaher Street for an assault. The suspect fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. All information will be forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.
On 05/13/2022 at 9:50 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of west 4th Street. A 37 year old Colorado woman was arrested on drug possession.
On 05/14/2022 at 1:53 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop at 4th and Wood Streets. A 20 year old South Dakota man was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol. A 2nd 20 year old South Dakota man was arrested for other alcohol related offenses.
On 05/14/2022 at 11:15 pm, an officer responded to the Cherry County Hospital to take a report of a sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.
Reported Offenses
On 05/09/2022 at 3:40 pm, an officer responded to the 400 block of east 2nd street for a report of a trespasser. The home owner decided to handle the issue without law enforcement involvement. No action taken.
On 05/10/2022 at 5:00 pm, officers received a report of a road rage incident. Contact was made with both drivers. No action taken.
On 05/13/2022 at 8:51 am, officers received a call regarding theft of services from the 1000 block of east highway 20. Investigation is ongoing.
On 05/13/2022 at 1:38 pm, a report of a drug offense occurring in the 200 block of north Wood Street was received. No action taken.
On 05/14/2022 at 3:34 am, officers responded to the 600 block of north Ray Street for a disturbance. Involved parties were contacted. No action taken.
05/14/2022 at 5:15 am, an officer was requested to the 300 block of north Main Street to remove a party who refused to leave the premises. The subject was removed.
Officers responded to 121 calls for service this week.
