Reported Offenses:
03/27/2022 at 9:45 pm, an officer took a report of a fake $20 bill being used to purchase merchandise in the 400 block of east highway 20. The incident is under investigation.
On 03/28/2022 at 12:05 pm, an officer responded to a non-injury accident in the 100 block of east 3rd Street. All information has been forwarded to the State of Nebraska.
03/28/2022 at 12:22 pm, an officer contacted a parent regarding excessive truancy of a child. The Valentine Community Schools will continue to monitor the issue.
03/29/2022 at 4:05 pm, an officer responded to the 400 block of east highway 20 in regards to a shoplifter. The suspect identity and what was taken was not known. Incident is under investigation.
03/31/2022 at 10:08 am, an officer responded to the intersection of Cherry Street and Highway 20 for a non-injury accident. All information has been forwarded to the State of Nebraska.
On 04/01/2022 at 2:17 pm, an officer received a report that a male suspect had used a fake $50 bill to make a purchase. The incident is under investigation.
On 04/01/2022, an officer received a report of a burglary of over $500 in personal property. The incident is under investigation.
On 04/02/2022, an officer responded to the 300 block of north Main Street in regards to a hit and run accident involving damage to a propane tank. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Valentine Police Department at 402-376-3055.
Arrests/Citations:
On 03/27/2022 at 1:11 am, officers responded to the 100 block of north Main Street in regards to an assault. A 58 year old Valentine man was arrested for domestic assault.
On 03/27/2022 at 9:56 am, an officer received a report of a sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.
On 03/30/2022 at 10:56 pm, officers made contact with a 31 year old South Dakota man. He was arrested on an active Cherry County warrant.
On 03/31/2022 at 7:01 pm, an officer received a report of a burglary. The suspect’s identity was known. All information has been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney.
On 04/02/2022 at 2351 hours, officers responded to the 600 block of west highway 20 for a disturbance. A 32 year old female from North Dakota was arrested for theft of services.
Officers responded to 135 calls for service this week.
