The Valentine Police Department Week in Review:
After showing increased retail sales in August of slightly over 5%, Cherry County and Valentine were up again in September. Valentine was up over 17% from 2020 sales, and Cherry County was up over 14% according to the Nebraska Department of Revenue. .
In comparison, Brown County was up in September by 7.5% and the City of Ainsworth was up over 10%.
Broken Bow was up less than 2%. Chadron was up 9% when compared to 2020. Gordon was up 12%.
Thomas County and Keya Paha County were both down between 10 and 15% this year.
